When I first heard about these books, I was rather skeptical. I received a recommendation from a friend some time ago. The genre did catch my interest though, but it was a bunch of pages to read. I did order the books and started reading.
At first, the story takes a while to get into. However, as with many fantasy stories, there is an abundance of events and people to describe. When I read the first couple of hundred pages, I was seriously hooked. The story takes you on a long journey, with mystical and mysterious creatures.
A great thing for me, is that there is a strong resemblance with many (religious) views and believes in the characters you will get to know. Jordan also manages to describe - as I interpreted - some of his transcendental beliefs.
Jordan managed to write great novels, but you need to stay awake and open for everything. There are many things to remember and it may seem random at some times. The book also leaves a lot of place for own interpretation. Not everything is described entirely. In my believes this book is a true addition to every fantasy-lovers bookshelf!
